Book Group Poetry (Youth and Adults)

In each book group session, we invite participants to explore their experiences and identities through writing. Open-ended prompts help connect the themes we discuss with the lives of our participants in a generative and nonjudgmental process.

Our approach to writing offers participants opportunities to put words on the page, whether they identify as writers or not. At the end of each year, we publish poetry anthologies for each group for all participants to take home. The text selection, design, and layout of these collections are carried out by book group leaders, who create beautiful work that allows the writings of participants to shine through.
