Erin Brown

Senior Program Officer

Erin Brown is a writer, teaching artist, and trained therapist. She served as a Book Group Leader at Literature for All of Us for three years, starting in 2005. Her work with book group participants inspired her to pursue a career in mental health, and she earned a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2011. While raising two small children, she worked for four years as a part-time therapist in group practice, specializing in early childhood trauma and LGBTQ issues.

During that time, Erin developed and facilitated trainings for educators and youth workers—including LFAOU Book Group Leaders—in recognizing and responding to trauma in classroom settings. She rejoined the staff of Literature for All of Us in 2016, and served as Program Director for three years. She enjoys cooking, volunteering at her son’s school, and making art with her children.
