Haydée Souffrant

haydée “hr.” souffrant is a Chicago-based Haitian American teaching artist, writer and doula-healer. Her performance practice, critical race and radical healing work probes the intersections of race, trauma healing and cultural memory through storytelling and creative writing.

haydee holds a BA in African American Studies and English from Oberlin College, and recently completed her MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago. She is most excited to join the Literature for All of Us team and continue to blend her professional practice of reading and writing as restorative justice.
